This product and associated wiring locates entirely within the fuse box and is designed to allow remote control switching between the superb “loud mode” exhaust tone that Astons can deliver and the sometimes more practical “quiet mode” at the press of a button on a remote fob.Fitting the module to the Rapide takes longer than other Astons at around 30 minutes, the unit does however come with very detailed fitting instructions.
Product Operation:
It operates by controlling the exhaust vacuum system solenoid direct from the key fob, where the lock symbol is the locked down quiet mode and unlock is the superb loud mode that would otherwise not be activated until you are north of 4000 RPM.
The unit is set to be in normal or quiet mode as the default for starting up, this will utilise the existing vacuum controls to hold the by pass valves in the exhaust box in quiet mode until revs are north of 4000 RPM, operating totally as Aston originally designed it to. The Loud button can then be pressed at any time to release the superb enhanced exhaust note that gives such a delightful distinctive tone, in particular from around 1700 RPM upward (a far more common rev range for day to day driving)
Options: Unlike our other Exhaust Remotes we do not offer the S6 with a "start loud" option as this significantly changes the character of the cars exhaust to a sound level that may not suit all Rapide owners as the start up point

I am over the moon with your work, the difference it makes is amazing. It sounds like a beast even without buildings for the exhaust note to bounce off, and this has completely changed the personality of the car. I’ve run through a couple of tunnels and the noise makes me laugh like a looney. I got your wonderful device connected to the homelink buttons after a bit of faffing.

Just a quick note.
Have been busy whilst at home in Aus but installed your exhaust butterfly controller last week. You are correct. It completely changes the normal exhaust note......in a good way. Even when idling around town below 2000 rpm it sounds fantastic. Best part is being able to turn the beast into a pussy cat at any stage.

I would have replied yesterday just after installation of the ERCM module, however I was out in the car and having too much fun.
What difference to the exhaust note absolutely superb, love it.
What an easy installation, I managed it in under the suggested 30 mins installation time and reckon once you have done one, can easily repeat in under 15 mins 😊
Brilliant piece of kit, you have now wet my appetite to wish I should have gone for Loud start up version .....or is the fun in pressing the button part of the joy ?

Your e-mail reminded me to write to thank you very much for selling me the exhaust pipe device for my Rapide. WOW, WOW, WOW is all I can say really, I don’t need a music system in the car as it is now always switched off and I just delight in listening to the exhaust. Very childish but the car now has the voice the engine and the body deserve!
